CAPTAINS

We are Captains' Steve and Kim Cansler. Married for 30 years, we have enjoyed working side by side for all our years together. We both are licensed US Coast Guard Captains and hold the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Master Captains license, as well.

Thirty years of personal service careers gives us the experience to welcome and accommodate you aboard. Years of community service as volunteer youth baseball and basketball coaches provided teaching skills which we use aboard, to teach the sailing and cruising experience to those with interest. Since moving aboard, nearly 10 years now, we have chartered individuals, couples and groups extensively throughout the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. In addition to our private charters, for the past 5 years, we have contracted with the Boy Scouts of America to charter Boy Scouts and Venture Crews here in the Abaco's. Kim is the Boy Scouts of America, Bahamas High Adventure Sea Base Program Director. This program is one of the top adventure programs in scouting, with 1500 - 1800 scouts and leaders participating each year. Steve captains' our s/v Natures Way as one of the nine vessels in the Sea Base Fleet. Each week 6 Boy Scouts or Venture Scouts plus 2 adult leaders have the scouting adventure of their lives aboard. Both of us enjoy sharing this "total experience" Adventure program. The Abaco's provides a beautiful and safe setting to top it off!

Our pledge is to provide a safe, positive environment for each guest, making this an unforgettable experience. We strive to make this an awesome lifetime memory for all!

VESSEL

S/V Natures Way is a 44' Beneteau wide body sailing sloop that sails fast and steady. She is well equipped with all necessary safety, navigational, and operational equipment. As a licensed foreign charter boat, we are inspected by the Commonwealth of the Bahamas Port Authority each year to insure the seaworthiness of all licensed vessels. In addition, s/v Natures Way is fully insured.

Although crews sleep on deck and in the cockpit under the stars, on occasions of rain you can retreat below. There is a spacious main salon, and a  large crew cabin with adjoining head and shower. Although there are not "bunks" for each crew member there is space below for each using their sleeping pads. A comfortable cockpit which serves as under the stars "bunk space" in addition to a large deck. A well equipped galley allows your crew to prepare delicious meals aboard. s/v Natures Way has a swim deck that makes getting in and out of the water and the dinghy very easy.
